From time to time, we like to reflect on the travels and adventures of our community. Hearing stories from the road is inspiring and gives us renewed perspectives.
“Adventure, to me, means going somewhere and enjoying the unexpected. Even if I get stuck somewhere or if the weather is awful, that's all just a part of it...
My favorite place is the entire eastern region of Iceland, the area I was born. It's close to my hometown Egilsstaðir, and I can always go visit the old farm I grew up in.”

“While my occupation allows me to explore the UK from time-to-time, I’m often stationed up in London four days a week. It’s this repetition that inspires me to get out every weekend and go exploring.
Through all this, I’ve become more aware of the potential for adventure, no matter where I am. I love being able to escape to places that are new to me. Places that will open the door to new experiences.
For some reason, I’m often drawn back to Wales. The rugged mountain hikes, rolling hills and valleys are a photographer's dream!
Recently I hiked up Snowdon with some buddies. It had snowed the night before, and when we first ventured out it looked like a beautiful white blanket had been draped over the entire mountain. The path was icy and by no means easy, but the views from the top were sensational.”
